Free motion machining is basically drawing with your sewing machine needle. It does take practice but once you have mastered it, it will open so many more design and textile doors for you. The pictures above are what can be achieved with lots of practice. 
 
In the workshop we will be starting from the beginning and just scribbling and drawing basic shapes with our sewing machine then gradually moving on to create floral shapes, apples, pears, writing and so on. By the end of the day, you will be able to ‘draw’ with your sewing machine needle.
