My March Adventures
I hope you all had a lovely Easter.
March has definitely been a mad month for me. I have visited Chelmsford and Sawbridgeworth to deliver talks, Cambridge, Chatteris and Nene Park, Peterborough to teach and have done lots of other things behind the scenes.
The ladybird photo was taken last week when I was teaching at Cambridge Makers, the sun was glorious and had just come out after a shower, you can see a raindrop on the ladybird. The other photo is of a piece of fabric which has been eco dyed by a student, using my express method. The venue was at Nene Park. It was the perfect place to experiment with a lovely bunch of people.
Come See Us!
We will be exhibiting and selling our products at this event in just a few weeks!
It would be great to meet you if you'd like to come along.
Workshops
I have added some new workshops on my website, including guest tutors, which is always exciting. These will be held at my studio in Littleport through out the year.

Eco Dyeing Express Workshop
Saturday 13th April
I am a little impatient when it comes to waiting for things to happen.
Eco dyeing is no exception, it can take quite some time to get good results. I have done a lot of experimenting with leaves in my heat press and have had some surprising outcomes. Not everyone will have a heat press, so I practiced with an old iron which worked equally as well.
Now to share it with you.
There are only 2 spaces remaining.

Indian Treasures - 2 Days
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May
I have been fortunate enough to visit India on a couple of occasions and was able to watch first hand and have a go at block printing with the master artisans themselves. It inspired me so much that I am now hooked on this ancient form of art printing.
This is an introduction to Indian Block Printing, with a twist, as in, making your own prints to use. You will also be using kantha stitch and couching, Indian style, along with beads and other motifs, to create a small, mixed media concertina book full of opulent ‘Indian Treasures’
This workshop is ideal for anyone who likes textile mixed media and stitching.
Dyeing To Do The Colourwheel
Saturday 11th May
Just using red, yellow and blue procion dyes we will dye fabric into the colour wheel. We will be doing a few more techniques as well, to acquire some beautiful colours and patterns on the fabrics.
Guest Tutor
Birds of a Sequined Feather
with Paula Watkins
Friday 17th May
We are very excited to welcome Paula Watkins as a guest tutor at the studio!
On this one day off workshop, we will be learning how to use hand cut stencils on painted calico. We will use acrylic paint to create a background before adding hand embroidery and drawings.
We will be using hand carved Indian wood blocks to print birds which will be hand embroidered with silk thread and embellished with exquiste sequins. Simple stitches made with gorgeous materials with make our birds into creatures of beauty!
New Wooden Blocks
As some of you may know, I design my own wooden print blocks and have them made in India by local carvers just outside of New Delhi.
I have just received a new batch which are now on my website to order.
